Recently plus size clothing store catalogs and online stores are finally including real bodies. Lane Bryant is still holding onto less curvy gals, but her sister Fashion Bug and One Stop Plus seem to be ahead of the curve. We all know that curvy girls make the world go around. What’s the problem? There are many plus size agencies and models today. Is it they are afraid that the plus size clothing won’t look appealing to them? Of course fashion is often an illusion and maybe this is what might be going on. It is important to support companies that tell the real story. Acceptance is on the way. While we wait lets make some great plus size dreses, shirts and pants!

They are afraid of what the crap they are calling clothes will actually look like on real women of size. That the fabric will lay in the unflattering lines that they have designed for us. The prints and patterns and colors will show how unappealing they really are (not that they actually need a woman of size to do that). And that we will notice the way poofy, gathered, short sleeves actually look on someone who isn’t a size 6 (which, btw, is considered plus size in the fashion/modeling industry) They are afraid that we will notice the way that gathering right under the bust makes a larger woman look 7 months pregnant. That we will notice they are selling us cheap ugly crap at designer prices.
That’s what they’re afraid of.
